The U.S. Center for SafeSport has officially launched a search for a new chief executive officer, aiming to navigate the organization into a more stable and effective future following a challenging startup phase. Established in 2017, this non-profit organization is responsible for addressing sexual abuse cases within Olympic sports, and its leadership transition comes at a critical time for the agency.
To facilitate the search, the Center has enlisted the expertise of consulting firm Korn Ferry. They will collaborate with a dedicated search committee comprised of board members and advisors to identify a suitable candidate who can lead the organization through its next chapter.
In the interim, April Holmes has stepped down from her role as board chair to take on the responsibilities of acting CEO, succeeding Ju'Riese Colon during this transitional period. The Center is hopeful that the new leadership will bring fresh perspectives and renewed commitment to its vital mission of safeguarding athletes.
