Antonio Conte insisted Napoli delivered "a good performance" in their 0-0 draw against Como, describing the result as "another step forward" in their push for Champions League football. The former Juventus and Inter Milan boss, now at the helm of the Partenopei, was speaking after a tense encounter that mirrored the goalless draw between the same sides back in November.
Despite failing to find the net, Conte highlighted the team's defensive solidity and tactical discipline as key positives. "We controlled large parts of the game and created chances," he said. "Against a well-organized Como side, it was important not to lose. This point keeps us in the race and shows we are growing."
The draw leaves Napoli in a tight battle for a top-four finish, with several rivals also dropping points over the weekend. Conte acknowledged the pressure but remained optimistic. "Every match is a final now. We have to take it one game at a time. Today was another step forward in terms of mentality and application."
The manager also praised the fans for their unwavering support, noting that the atmosphere at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona helped push the team through a difficult second half. "The supporters understand the journey we are on. They see the effort," he added.
With seven games remaining, Napoli's fate remains in their own hands. Conte's focus now shifts to the next fixture, where he expects another tough test. "We will rest, recover, and prepare. The objective is clear: we want to be in the Champions League next season."
