Winter Sports Season Kicks Off for High School Athletes

The winter sports season is set to officially commence on Monday, November 17, for student-athletes in grades 9-12 at the City School District of Albany. This eagerly anticipated season will feature a variety of sports, with practice and tryout schedules available for each team.

Coaches will keep all student-athletes and their families informed about any changes to the practice schedule as the season progresses. Competition schedules for winter sports can also be found on the district's website.

Before participating in preseason tryouts and practices, several important steps must be completed. Parents or guardians are required to initiate the registration process for their student-athletes through Final Forms, ensuring that necessary documents such as the Interval Sports Health History and Athletic Consent Form are filled out. Additionally, student-athletes must complete their required forms, and all participants must have a current physical examination on file.

It's important to note that unified bowling has a different start date, and further information regarding registration and schedules will be shared soon. For ice hockey, which involves collaboration with other area school districts, the Athletic Department will directly communicate with interested students and their families regarding next steps.

For any additional inquiries, the Athletics Department can be reached at (518) 475-6310. Let's go Falcons!
