Beyond the gridiron, the athletic department is also looking ahead to a pair of basketball exhibition games still upcoming. Those contests will give fans a first real look at the new look rosters and offer coaches a chance to evaluate rotations before the regular season begins. Exhibition games often serve as a tune up, but they also generate excitement because they signal that college basketball is right around the corner.

Taken together, the football clash and the basketball exhibitions make October a month to watch in Storrs. Supporters have plenty of reasons to follow the teams closely, and the orange tint on the schedule reflects a period filled with competition, anticipation, and the steady rhythm of fall sports.
