Rangers sign Rojas, Comeau, Bumila

The Rangers have officially inked their top three selections from the 2026 NHL Draft, locking up a trio of promising prospects. The team announced the signing of first-round pick forward Alex Rojas, second-round defenseman Tyler Comeau, and third-round winger Sam Bumila to entry-level contracts.

Rojas, taken 14th overall, is a skilled two-way center known for his high hockey IQ and playmaking ability. He spent last season with the US National Team Development Program, where he posted 22 goals and 45 assists in 55 games. Scouts have praised his vision and ability to drive possession, making him a potential future top-six forward.

Comeau, selected in the second round, is a mobile defenseman with a strong physical edge. Standing 6-foot-3 and 205 pounds, he anchored the blue line for the Spokane Chiefs in the WHL, recording 10 goals and 34 points while logging heavy minutes against top competition. His shutdown ability and first pass out of the zone are seen as his biggest assets.

Bumila, a third-round pick, brings a scoring touch from the wing. He tallied 31 goals for the Sioux City Musketeers in the USHL, using a heavy shot and quick release to beat goaltenders. He is expected to add depth to the Rangers' forward pipeline.

All three players are expected to attend the team's development camp next month before reporting to training camp in the fall.
