Penn State Schuylkill Athletics prepares for fall season with six sports

Penn State Schuylkill Athletics is set to kick off its 2026 fall campaign, with six sports ready to take the field, court, and course. The Nittany Lions are bringing back a mix of veteran leadership and fresh talent, and the coaching staff has high expectations for the upcoming season.

The fall schedule features a full lineup of competition across men's and women's soccer, women's volleyball, and cross country. Along with those traditional offerings, the department is also preparing for the return of golf and tennis, giving the campus community a wide range of events to follow. Coaches have been working through the summer to integrate new recruits and build team chemistry, and early practices have shown plenty of energy.

Athletic director Joe Bressi noted that the focus this year is on steady improvement and making a push in conference play. "We have a solid group of returning athletes who know what it takes, and the newcomers are already making an impression," he said. "The goal is to be competitive every single match and to represent the campus with pride."

Fans can expect a full slate of home contests at the campus athletic complex, with several key matchups scheduled for late September and October. The department is also encouraging students and local residents to come out and support the teams, as home-field advantage will be crucial in tight conference races.

Rosters and detailed schedules have been finalized, and the team is now focusing on preseason training. With the first official competitions just weeks away, the Nittany Lions are eager to get started and show what this season's squad can do.
