Ladd McConkey Stays Limited at Chargers Practice

October 16, 2026 - 12:21

Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Ladd McConkey was listed as a limited participant during Thursday's practice session. The designation marks another day of restricted work for the second-year pass catcher, who has been managing a workload that the team continues to monitor as the week progresses.

McConkey has emerged as one of the most reliable targets in the Chargers offense since arriving in Los Angeles. His route running and ability to separate from defenders have made him a favorite of quarterback Justin Herbert, particularly on third downs and in key passing situations. When healthy, he operates as a central piece of the team's aerial attack.

Limited participation does not automatically rule a player out for the upcoming game. Teams often use these designations to manage reps and reduce the risk of aggravating an existing issue. The final injury report, released later in the week, will provide a clearer picture of his availability.

For now, the Chargers will continue to evaluate McConkey's status day by day. His presence on the field Sunday would be significant for an offense that leans on his consistency and timing with Herbert. If he cannot go, expect additional targets for the remaining receivers on the roster.
