Five-star Small Forward Discusses Duke, Recruitment

A five-star small forward in the 2025 class has been one of the most watched prospects on the circuit this summer, and he recently sat down to talk about where things stand with his college list. The 6-foot-8 wing, known for his versatility and defensive upside, made it clear that Duke remains a major factor in his decision, but he also hinted that the process has become more complex than many outsiders assume.

He spoke about his relationship with the Blue Devils coaching staff, noting that the communication has been consistent without feeling forced. "They check in often, but it is not like they are sending me something every hour," he said. "It is more about building a real connection. Coach has seen me play a bunch, and we talk about how I would fit into their system, not just as a scorer but as someone who can guard multiple positions."

What stood out in his comments was the way he described his recruitment overall. He said he is in no rush to make a call, despite the pressure from fans and media to narrow things down. "People want a timeline, but I am not going to force it. I want to take the visits, sit with my family, and really feel out the best fit for the next level," he explained. He also mentioned that while Duke has a lot to offer, other programs have stepped up their efforts in recent weeks, making the decision tougher than it looked earlier in the spring.

He did not name a leader or a top group, but he did say that academics and player development will carry heavy weight in his final choice. "Everyone talks about the NBA, and that matters, but I also want to be at a place where I can grow as a person. That is something I am looking at closely." As the summer circuit winds down, his recruitment is expected to pick up even more, with several official visits likely to be scheduled in the coming months. For now, he is focused on improving his game and enjoying the process, even as the spotlight grows brighter.
